Today, It seems appropriate, because "we" live on Earth Planet, and probably "care" for others (or just ourselves!), to go back to the history of Democracy and reflect:

The Old Goat

Democracy (from Greek: ΔημοκρατÎ¯α, from δá¿†μος [dÄ“mos], „Masses", and κρατÎ¯α [krat�a], „Rule", literal: Rules of the Masses) is an egalitarian form of government in which all the citizens of a nation together determine public policy, the laws and the actions of their state, requiring that all citizens (meeting certain qualifications) have an equal opportunity to express their opinion. In practice, "democracy" is the extent to which a given system approximates this ideal, and a given political system is referred to as "a democracy" if it allows a certain approximation to ideal democracy. Although no country has ever granted all its citizens (i.e. including minors) the vote, most countries today hold regular elections based on egalitarian principles, at least in theory. The most common system that is deemed "democratic" in the modern world is parliamentary democracy in which the voting public takes part in elections and chooses politicians to represent them in a Legislative Assembly. The members of the assembly then make decisions with a majority vote. A purer form is direct democracy in which the voting public makes direct decisions or participates directly in the political process. Elements of direct democracy exist on a local level and on exceptions on national level in many countries, though these systems coexist with representative assemblies. The term comes from the Greek word δημοκρατÎ¯α (dÄ“mokrat�a) "rule of the people",[1] which was coined from δá¿†μος (dÄ“mos) "people" and κρατÎ¯α (kratia) "rule", in the middle of the 5th-4th century BC to denote the political systems then existing in some Greek city-states, notably Athens following a popular uprising in 508 BC.[2] Other cultures since Greece have significantly contributed to the evolution of democracy such as Ancient Rome,[3] Europe,[3] and North and South America.[4] The concept of representative democracy arose largely from ideas and institutions that developed during the European Middle Ages and the Age of Enlightenment and in the American and French Revolutions.[5] The right to vote has been expanded in many jurisdictions over time from relatively narrow groups (such as wealthy men of a particular ethnic group), with New Zealand the first nation to grant universal suffrage for all its citizens in 1893. Elements considered essential to democracy include freedom of political expression, freedom of speech, and freedom of the press, so that citizens are adequately informed and able to vote according to their own best interests as they see them. The term "democracy" is often used as shorthand for liberal democracy, which may include elements such as political pluralism; equality before the law; the right to petition elected officials for redress of grievances; due process; civil liberties; human rights; and elements of civil society outside the government. Democracy is often confused with the republic form of government. In some definitions of "republic," a republic is a form of democracy. Other definitions make "republic" a separate, unrelated term.[6

THATS BAD!

This is a good analysis - but "we" are going to have "BAD" days ahead for everyone, unless we get back into "DEMOCRACY" instead of some "OTHER" system that "SOME" apparently will continue to try! I find myself less "OPTIMISTIC", as I start each day - "THAT'S BAD"!

In a few hours.... wow!

So am I getting nervous that the date between Shawn and myself is less than a day away... surprisingly, no!

I think that since we took the opportunity to talk as much as possible, putting everything on the table that was asked, I think that makes the pending meeting not such a nervous or stressful thing.

Don't get me wrong, there are going to be nerves in play just on the idea that we have never met before, but I believe it is going to go real well.

As for the meeting place, it is at a very well known and semi-busy place, even for a Sunday.

As for Colin.... you know I haven't heard from him since sending that email in which I believed it was best for us to go our seperate ways.� I hope that he is okay, I really do, but at this time, I couldn't really tell you.

Interesting! We know today that the Republican strategy is only to "defeat", not "compromise" which means "NOTHING' will be done for all of the others - regardless of political thinking! That's BAD for everyone! Compromise is the only way, if we want to get things done fairly and with balance! Otherwise, we will get something else - instead of DEMOCRACY!

Holy Spirit

Some things I was thinking today about the Holy Spirit as I was listening to the Word of God on CD.

John 16:7-11
�^7�Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.�^8�And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:�9�^10�of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more;�of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.

2 Corinthians 1:22
�22�who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.

The Holy Spirit is living on the inside of us. �The Holy Spirit is also the one who convicts the world of sin that's why the world hates the Holy Spirit and hates the Christians who have the Holy Spirit living on the inside of them because they don't want to change or be exposed or convicted of doing wrong.

Finally though ..the world... they will get their way.
2 Thes 2:7
�^7�For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He�who now restrains�will do so�until He�is taken out of the way.

The Holy Spirit will be taken out of the way and then the world will have no conviction of sin. �I believe at this time Christians will no longer be on the earth. �There is some controversy here as to when Christians will be taken from the earth but I don't think that is where the controversy should be focused.

The controvesy shouldn't be on when Christians are taken off the earth but who qualifies to leave in the rapture. � I think when the rapture takes place only the "Christians" who have a clean conscience living for Jesus every day will go. �The people who have been playing church and religion aren't going anywhere. �

If you read the parable of the 5 wise and the 5 foolish .. there WILL be some folks left behind who clearly thought they shouldn't have been left behind.

Matthew 25:1-13�

The Parable of the Wise and Foolish Virgins

25�“Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.�^{Now five of them were wise, and five�were�foolish.}3�Those who�were�foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them,�but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.�5�But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept.

“And at midnight a cry was�heard:�‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming;^{Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their
lamps.}^�And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us�some�of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’�^{But the wise answered,
saying, ‘No,�lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’}^�10�And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.

“Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’�12�But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’

“Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour�in which the Son of Man is coming.

**Interesting to note here that the word 'oil' in the Bible is symbolic of the Holy Spirit**

Jesus job description changed

Something that has been on my mind a lot this year about Jesus...

�"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning." John 1:1

Jesus has always been and there was never a time when He was not.

Rev 13:8 calls Jesus the lamb slain from the foundation of the world. �He was always meant to bear the sin of the world from before God started the man project.

What amazes me is that He would be willing to do that for us and that He knew it would have to be done before He ever created us. �He knew what it would cost and He did it anyway.
�He knew that He was perfect and to bring us into His perfect presence we would have to be made perfect as He is perfect and that we would NEVER be able to do that on our own. �He knew He would have to do it for us and it was always meant for Jesus to die on the cross in our place to crucify and judge sin for all time.

From the time Jesus was raised from the dead and ascended up into heaven His role forever changed in the Godhead.. from that point on to eternity ..

Hebrews 7:25
�^�Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

He lives to make intercession for us forever..from now on and always into eternity. �He is forever at the side of God speaking for us on our behalf ... forever.

That is how committed God is to us and how far in advance from before the foundation of the world that He planned to make a way for us to live in peace and blessing in His presence and perfect will. �He did everything .. it is finished.
